Image Sourcing
Since I spend far more time on Pinterest than on my blog, I thought I'd blog about Pinterest.
(Again.)
I am the most OCD pinner I know. This is because, like most everything else in my life, I am too nitpicky about the details to just relax, & pin&repin away without editing or overanalyzing.
But please tell me I am not alone.
Please tell me that there is somebody else out there that actually
goes back & edits boards from time to time,
deleting the things that are no longer inspiring for whatever reason,
or deleting that one image that detracts from the overall prettiness of its particular place in the collage.
Please tell me that there is somebody else out there that actually checks the link of an image before repinning it.
& please tell me that there is somebody else out there that will take the time to actually attempt to find an image's *original* source to pin from!
(Because really, there are so many gorgeous food images on Pinterest that in no way link back to any kind of recipe, which just drives me bananas! ;))
So, here are a few of the recent "pretties" that caught my eye, that I just had to roll up my sleeves & go hunting for a more substantial source than just a Tumblr, or a blog post that only credits another Pinboard, etc...

Lucky Charm
Although I am occasionally excited about a chunky, large piece of jewelry, my standard go-to accessories are almost all small, delicate items from
or Vineyard Vines.
& of course there is just something classically, well, charming about little charms, don't y'all think?

You Are My Sunshine
What beautiful weather we've been having during the back-to-school season!
Yes, there has been some rain. But overall, August has been much less miserably hot&muggy than its usual. This has helped ease the transition for Pretty Little Bare Feet (who is actually sporting Sun-San Salt-Water sandals most of the time) onto this new school year's bigger playground w/ more children to befriend.
So here's to sunshine & these last few fleeting glimpses of summertime!
(Knock on wood.)

Spring Break Staycationing
This week is Pretty Little Bare Feet's spring break. You may be thinking,
"Hmmm, isn't she only three? Is spring break that big a deal for y'all?"
Well, it definitely is, as Pretty Little Bare Feet is pretty married to her typical routine, & things that throw it off...
(like missing a whole week of nursery school)
...drive her crazy.
& when she's crazy, I'm crazy. & when we're both crazy, the house is crazy.
My Little Man? He's his usual
calm,
cool,
laid-back
little self. We should all be so zen!
So although I'm smack in the middle of a cabinet&pantry cleaning-out-&-reorganization...
...& I have laundry to change over...
...this morning's stir crazies have got me needing a break.
So I want to do just an itsy bitsy bit of blog catching up & share some fun with y'all.
No surprise, I have a sticky of ideas for Pinboards. I don't want to have a bunch of lame, one-or-two item Pinboards, so I wait to create them until I actually have some great things to put on them.
I keep getting excited about bracelets, which are very probably my favorite pieces of jewelry, but I haven't ventured out into creating a Pinboard solely devoted to bracelets. Instead, they keep getting pinned to either my Pretties Pinboard or My Style Pinboard.
(Depending, of course, on whether they're more dainty&pretty...or classically stylish. ;))

Pinteresting Update

Well...
...I got excited about it!
I've been thinking maybe I could maintain the blog better if I got rid of some other "clutter." I'm thinking about just following all the bloggers I follow on Twitter on their actual blogs...
(duh)
...& then deleting the Twitter account.
(or at least giving notice of its abandonment)
I'm not the greatest at maintaining my (personal, private) Facebook account, but I do it just to keep in touch with those I wouldn't otherwise easily keep in touch with.
So if I could stay relatively current on
blogs,
Facebook,
& Pinterest...
...I'd feel "connected" enough, I think. More so than I have been, anyway! LOL
(& I'm behind on email, as usual...)
So tell me, how do *YOU* maintain your social networking?
(while presumably having a "real life")
& do you keep your blogger identity separate from your personal contacts?
Happy (long!) Weekend!

...& the Rest...
Pretty Little Bare Feet's Birthday party was yesterday, & that means that the last few days - when I intended to blog about the rest of my Globes-inspired shopping - were
long,
busy,
& ended late.
I don't know how I'll ever catch back up on sleep, but I've certainly done it before!

So to wrap it all up, I wanted to share some of my finds that centered around the trends of pale pastels, metallics, headbands, & Old Hollywood...

Jewel Tones - Not Just for Bling!
I've previously mentioned that before I became a Lilly Pulitzer addict, it was very rare that I ventured out of my
black,
gray,
& navy
comfort zone. & to this day, my favorite non-Lilly store for my own wardrobe is White House/Black Market.

But since discovering my beloved Lilly (& having children!), I have become more adventurous with color - most of the time.
(On my nails, at the very least!)
There wasn't a whole heck of a lot of color on the red carpet this past weekend, & I'm hoping that will change over the course of this awards season.
Because these striking jewel-toned colors...

...were fantastic looks!
For those of us that don't grace red carpets, how can we add jewel tones to our lives?

& of course we can easily infuse some of this rich color into our kids' wardrobes!:

(Oh, I know Crocs aren't cool or whatever...& believe me, I can't put them on my own feet - but children & nursery school teachers looove them!)

(You won't believe the sale price on that!)

Our Little Squirrel-Lovin' Girl
I'm not sure exactly how or when it started, but Pretty Little Bare Feet has become quite interested in squirrels in the last couple months.

She had been noticing squirrels outside her bedroom window, & pointing them out when we took walks in our neighborhood.
Then she was ohsodelighted when I bought her this little orange smocked squirrel bishop dress.
& her current favorite pair of "big girl" unmentionables are from Gymboree: bright orange&yellow with a little squirrel on them.
Most recently, Pretty Little Bare Feet has spent the last two afternoons narrating her own little documentary
(which I've been overhearing on the downstairs monitor),
about the little "Squirrel Mommy" that has been posted on a branch just outside her bedroom window.
Now I must admit that the Squirrel Mommy was adorable, with all her little squirrel babies nestled up on the branch with her. But good grief, the mind of a two-year-old
(aaa, she's almost three!)
never ceases to amaze me. Only the blissful freedom of youth could provide one with the awe&patience to stare at a barely-moving critter
(okay, & its barely-moving young, too)
for that amount of time. Absolutely precious...but I do hope that maybe Pretty Little Bare Feet will nap this afternoon, since our little squirrel family has apparently relocated to another branch, out of our sight.
Anyway, inspired by Pretty Little Bare Feet's latest fixation, I just thought I'd share...squirrels are cute! ;)
